Hello,
I would like to share with you
my commitment to Lee's Summit. As a candidate for Lee's Summit City
Council, I care deeply about the city and citizens. The decision
to run for elected office has come over time. Two years ago I was
barely short in my ambition to be as City Council Member. Out of
roughly 1,800 votes cast I missed by merely 24 votes.
My civic experience as a member
of the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Adjustments, Charter
Commission, LS 360 and R-7 Boundary Study Team provide me the tools
to lead. I have been exposed to many city opertations and activities.
This exposure allows me to understand operations within the city
and how they impact business and citizens.
City operations impact all of
us, sometimes positively and sometimes negatively. Some of the impacts
are good, such as continued economic success of the downtown area,
which is the heart of the city. Our schools rival the highest quality
in the state, one of the major reasons people move to Lee's Summit.
Also, our parks system continues its excellence and growth.
Some city development has been
beneficial; unfortunately some has caused problems. At times, unwise
and unbalanced development has occurred, as well as inadequate infrastructure
planning. There are recurring problmes with our storm water and
sanitarty sewers, which impact our neighborhoods. Additionally,
we have had innapropriate implementation of Tax Increment Financing
(TIF) and continued excessive taxes.
The impacts can be countered with
a change in city government. I have not taken the decision to run
lightly. My family and I know that campaigns are very costly, grueling,
require sacrifice and dedication. However, if you believe in the
future of Lee's Summit as I do and you believe we must have change
in City Hall, I will be honored to receive your support and vote!!
I represent "YOUR
VOICE IN LEE'S SUMMIT".
My family and I are dedicated.
Election day is April 6. I look forward to serving as your city
council member.
Warm personal regards,
Dave Mosby
Candidate for Lee's Summit City Council, 4th District.
